Russell S. Massey
Russell S. Massey is a member of the firm. His areas of expertise include environmental litigation, insurance coverage and complex litigation. He has broad experience in both federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels and has also represented clients in Alternative Dispute Resolution forums. Mr. Massey has authored numerous articles and has frequently been asked to lecture on a wide variety of topics, including indoor air vapor intrusion and electronic discovery. Mr. Massey was selected in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Rising Star" attorney by Law & Politics magazine.
Mr. Massey received his B.A. in American Studies magna cum laude from the University of Maryland in 1991 and graduated cum laude from Temple University School of Law in 1994. Mr. Massey is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Mr. Massey has successfully defended a product manufacturer from personal injury and property damage claims in a large environmental matter involving the release of at least 15,000 gallons of gasoline into a residential neighborhood. Mr. Massey also won a significant decision before the New Jersey Supreme Court in the case of Stelluti v. Casapenn Enterprises, LLC, 1 A.3d 678 (N.J. 2010), wherein the New Jersey Supreme Court upheld the use and enforceability of waiver of liability forms in the context of a gym.
Mr. Massey serves on the Advisory Board for HepTREC, an education, research, and service center at The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia whose mission is to reduce the impact of viral hepatitis. He also coaches youth soccer.
