Robert Douglas Billet
Robert D. Billet is the principal partner at Billet & Associates. Bob practices in the fields of environmental and mass tort claims, product liability, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, municipal and civil rights, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, construction, trucking, liquor, and general civil litigation. He is licensed to practice law Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland.
Bob graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980, and received his law degree in 1983 from the Temple University School of Law.
He began his career as an associate with Margolis Edelstein, after which he became an associate with Korn, Kline & Kutner until the
formation of Billet & Connor in February, 1991 and Billet & Associates in 2008. Bob is a member of the American Bar Association and has
memberships in the American (member: Section of Litigation; Tort, Trial, and Insurance Practice Section; Section of Environment, Energy,
and Resources, Environmental Litigation and Toxic Torts Committee), Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Montgomery County (PA) Bar
Associations, as well as the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the Defense Research Institute, the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, RIMS, and NAPSLO.
He has tried and argued numerous cases and appeals in both state and federal court. Bob served as lead counsel in the first phase of the trial in the Blue Bell Gulf Litigation, which resulted in a defense verdict following a two month trial that involved a substantial release of gasoline into a residential neighborhood. Bob is a frequent lecturer on issues of environmental law, insurance coverage and bad faith, and trial practice. He also sits as a judge pro tempore in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
